Abentee voting (or vote by mail)
Voting absentee might be the best way for North Dakotans to safely and effectively participate in the political process during COVID-19. To vote absentee, you can request a ballot by sending in an absentee request form or by emailing your county auditor to get a form sent to you. When you get your ballot, fill it out immediately and mail it back the same day. Please note that the post marked date on your ballot/envelope doesn't have significance here, your ballot must be in the hands of the election official in enough time to deliver to the polling location on election day.
Voting in person or voting early
Find your polling place ahead of time to cast your ballot in person on Election Day. North Dakotans who would like to can also vote early.

- Sept. 24: absentee ballots start being mailed out to those who requested one
