Person writing a letter

Summary

Join us at Zandbroz in downtown Fargo on March 13 between 5:30 and 7 p.m. and let’s lay out our comments, concerns, and questions regarding legislation we oppose, like House Bill 1205.

Local politics leaving you concerned? Let’s write about it!

Social media, email inboxes, and pretty much all other online forms of communications are a bit cluttered nowadays. Wouldn’t you agree? That’s why we’re looking to a tried and true tactic to grab our lawmaker’s attention: handwritten letters!

Join us at Zandbroz in downtown Fargo on March 13 between 5:30 and 7 p.m. and let’s lay out our comments, concerns, and questions regarding legislation we are monitoring, like House Bill 1205. This bill would make it a crime for libraries to offer "sexually explicit" books or books that show nudity or partial nudity to their patrons.

Everyone is welcome to attend to gain a better understanding of how to contact elected leaders at all levels of government and highly encouraged to participate by penning a letter and dropping it in the mail.

Stamps, pens, paper, postcards, and envelopes will be provided for attendees. Just bring your laptop if you would like to type out a letter, we can print it off for you and mail it in. We will have sample letters you can use as a launch point, but highly encourage you to edit and design a letter that reflects you and your concerns.

Can’t attend? Sign up for our emails and get alerted for the next event at aclund.org/alerts or request a letter writing kit to host your own party by emailing [email protected].

Before attending any in-person events, we recommend taking all appropriate COVID-related safety precautions.
