Adam Jorgensen has been named digital media associate for the ACLU of North Dakota, South Dakota and Wyoming.
In his new role, Jorgensen develops and manages the cross-platform digital communications and social media strategy for the three states and is responsible for generating content that is engaging, up-to-date and results in measurable action. He also designs and produces online and print graphics and videos that are informative, timely and support the ACLU’s advocacy efforts.
“Adam is full of ideas and has the drive and passion to make them work,” said Janna Farley, communications director for the ACLU of North Dakota, South Dakota and Wyoming. “His commitment to civil rights and social justice, along with his knowledge of all things digital, is exactly what we need in our three states to tell our story and advance our work on an always-changing digital platform.”
Jorgensen joined the ACLU in 2017 as communications associate. In that role, he supported the work of the communications department, promoted advocacy campaigns and helped make civil liberties accessible and relevant to communities throughout North Dakota, South Dakota and Wyoming.
“It is remarkable to see communities come together both online and in person over a shared passion,” Jorgensen said. “Whether it’s fighting to defeat anti-trans bills on the capitol steps or rallying together at home during a global pandemic over Zoom, documenting and being a part of these events have been rewarding and inspiring. I’m eager to expand the ACLU’s ability to bring people together both online and offline through this role as digital media associate.”
Prior to the ACLU, Jorgensen served at Sioux Falls Pride as the president, worked as the communications and development coordinator at NARAL Pro-Choice South Dakota and led volunteers at Sanford Health Hospice in South Dakota and Minnesota.
Jorgensen is a graduate of the University of Sioux Falls and Southeast Technical Institute with majors focusing on marketing, project management and graphic design. He has also been heavily involved with local organizations including the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Almost Home Canine Rescue and LifeScape.
