Know Your Rights Election 2024

Summary

Do you understand your rights at the polls? What can you expect when voting in person? Do you have a plan to cast your ballot? Get all your voting questions answered!

Voting is a fundamental right of our democracy. The decisions made in city halls, state legislatures, the United States Congress and every other level of government affect the lives of all North Dakotans.

But decisions really get made by people who show up and vote – which is why casting a ballot this year, whether that is in person on Nov. 5 or absentee – is critical.

That’s why it’s so important that you know your rights when it comes to voting.

North Dakota is fortunate that we don’t have extreme voting laws that have disenfranchised voters around this country. Still, knowing where your polling place is and knowing what kind of identification to bring is important. And what happens if technical difficulties arise?
