What began in 2025 as a single day of defiance has become a sustained national resistance to tyranny, spreading from small towns to city centers and across every community that's determined to defend democracy. With millions of people taking to the streets, our peaceful movement is bigger than ever.

Saturday, March 28, is our next opportunity to keep up the pressure at No Kings III protests across the state. Join the ACLU to march with us to defend our freedoms and our communities.

We have a long and dangerous road ahead to save our democracy, but in recent months we see that people power is working.

We see it in the way the Trump regime withdrew its shock troops from Minneapolis. We see them trying to distance themselves from their own cruel mass deportation agenda. We see Trump's failed policies becoming more and more unpopular each day.

This is what happens when we loudly come together to say no authoritarianism, no fascism, and no kings.

Legal Observer Trainings - Fargo

Protest has been a tried-and-true way to create change for centuries – and these days, more and more people are making their voices heard by marching in the streets. We love to see people exercising their First Amendment rights like this! Unfortunately, law enforcement officials sometimes violate this right through means intended to thwart free public expression. As people prepare to gather for No Kings Rallies across the country and right here in North Dakota later this month, we want to make sure no one's First Amendment rights are violated. Please note: This link will take you to a third-party website, nokings.org. That's why we're inviting you to join the ACLU's team of legal observers. Legal observers are committed to defending free speech in a way that is as objective as possible so that their documentation can be used as evidence if police misconduct or obstructions to constitutionally protected free speech are challenged in court. The need for legal observers is critical to deter and stand up to unlawful governmental intervention at protests and document potential abuse of power. By completing this training and joining the ACLU's volunteer legal observer team, you can do your part to uphold the First Amendment at the Fargo No Kings Rally and beyond. Will you help us protect protesters, hold law enforcement accountable, and defend our free society?
