House Bill 1273 would prohibit ranked-choice and approval voting in elections.

The ACLU of North Dakota opposes House Bill 1273. This bill would infringe on local control. In 2018, 63.5% of Fargo voters voted to change to approval voting. The legislature should not tell local communities how they can or cannot chose their elected officials.
